About Us

Here is a little information about us. Our names are Dave and Glenda Altman. Dave is a licensed real estate agent in middle Tennessee and we are both real estate investors.


We started doing remodeling projects 40 years ago, shortly after we were married. It was 1968 and Dave was in the Navy and we lived in Portsmouth, VA in off-base housing.


When we moved in, the floor in the kitchen was deplorable. It was just pieces and chunks of flooring. Maybe I’m exaggerating a bit, but it was in pretty bad shape. So we got some cheap tile and replaced it. That was the beginning.


Eighteen months later, Dave was out of the Navy, we moved back home to South Florida and bought our first home.


That house needed a lot of tender loving care. So we read books on how to repair and install what we needed and wanted. That was when most of our remodeling jobs were out of necessity.

Our first project in that house was replacing all the windows. Next, we put in central air conditioning. Nothing like starting with the more difficult projects first. We have always read up on what we wanted to accomplish and then jumped in and just did it.




Over the next few years in that house, we laid tile - we put down carpeting - put up paneling - moved walls - put up new walls - put in light fixtures - made the carport into a garage - built a great treehouse for the kids in the backyard - and sewed scraps of carpet pieces together to make our son a multi-color carpet in his bedroom - well you get the picture.


After we remodeled our first home to the point where we were happy with it, we sold it and moved on to our second.


We bought our second house from the bank because the construction company who was building it went bankrupt. We bought it when only the rough plumbing and electric were in. We finished that one, lived in it a while and sold it. Over the years, we bought and sold a few more houses in South Florida.


We moved to middle Tennessee about 9 years ago. We still buy, remodel and sell houses. We also buy, remodel to put tenants in houses.


For 40 years we have bought, remodeled and sold houses. Now every time we buy a house, we look at what we can change to make it more livable and occupant friendly.
