Microwave

Here is a quick way for cleaning microwave ovens.

  • Remove turntable and wash and dry. You can use warm soapy water to clean it.
  • Wipe down the microwave inside and outside.

    • A good general cleaning solution to clean the inside of a microwave is a mixture of 4 tablespoons of baking soda to 1 quart of warm water.
    • If the spills in the microwave are dried and hard to remove, put a few tablespoons of baking soda in a microwave safe cup of water and boil for a few minutes in the microwave. The steam should help loosen the stuff so it can be wiped out with a paper towel. Also, this helps to remove odors that may be clinging inside to your microwave.

  • Replace the turntable.
NOTE: If the microwave continues to have a funky odor, put some lemon juice in a glass cup and boil. To control odor, you can store a box of baking soda in the microwave between uses.
