There are many legitimate companies that specialize in helping people and they do not charge an "up front fee, to get the paperwork started". A legitimate company will not have any monies due until AFTER they help you. There are many scams, just be careful.

Unfortunately, foreclosure scams are rising nationwide and with these increasing numbers there are many people out there who want to "help" you. If someone contacts you and says they can make your pending foreclosure go away for a fee, be very careful it may be a scam.
