Hardiebacker board question

by Vernon
(Highland, MD)

The 1/2 inch thick Hardie Backer board that I bought to install in a shower stall got rained on. If I install it after it dries out for a few days, will this in any way be detrimental after it is installed and ceramic tile placed over it?

Thanks.

No problem, HardiBacker is designed for wet areas. Make sure it is dry when you install it. Use the specification for installing you ceramic tile and use latex grout to seal the tiles. Unsanded grout, grout small areas and remove the grout before it sets to hard. It's a bear to get off once it sets. Then after a few days seal it. The likely hood of future problems is very small.
