With the housing industry in a slump, many homeowners are remodeling or renovating the home they already own or they are buying a house that needs some repairs.

By tackling those home remodeling projects, you can have the home you really want and also one that suits your family’s needs.

Here are questions to ask yourself before getting started on any project:

How long do you intend to stay in your home? You don’t want to over-improve the house if you are not going to be there long.

How extensive is the project going to be? Is it within your budget? Can you afford to do it now?

How long will it take to complete the project?

Do you have the skills to complete it OR will someone else finish the project?

What are you going to remodel? Bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, entertainment room?

Below are pictures of a home project that was done in stages. It started as a deck, which after being spruced up and added to, becomes a covered porch with spa and a great place for summer outdoor barbecues!

The first picture is of the deck after a cover had been put over it.

This is when the spa was added.

This is when the additional railing and privacy fence were being added.
