Plumbing Questions and Answers
How can I cut through a PVC pipe? So this PVC pipe is sticking straight up out of the ground. What do you suggest I use to cut through it. Some things I thought of were, tree branch cutters, hatchet, miter table saw and axe. Would any of these work well so that I can cut through the pipe real quick. Thanks.
Is it about four inches in diameter and near your house? It could be a clean out for the drain or it could be an access to a water shutoff valve to your house. Find out what it is before cutting anything off. Then take appropriate action.

Question: How do you replace a NW frost free water bib washer? I took it apart but do not know how to remove the washer. Answer: I do not have specific information about a this water bib. However, it comes in two types: those with a washer and those with rubber "o" rings or ceramic seals. Whatever type you have, the seal will be at the opposite end of the knob that shuts off the water. Here is the key. Does your faucet make a 1/4 turn or does it make multiple turns? 1/4 turn is typically the ceramic and I have not had much luck finding parts. This faucet is usually replaced as a unit. Rubber washers on the other hand are cheap and usually available anywhere. Let me know what you find.
