Plumbing Repairs, Problems and Installations

This is our section where we talk about plumbing repairs, problems and installations.

We start with water heaters. We show you how to change a water heater element without the mess of water from the tank gushing out on the floor. The water heater is a large user of energy. Is your water heater energy efficient? Have you seen the new tankless electric water heater? It is so small. Here are the steps for installing one.

We now move on to faucets. When your shower faucet leaks, is it better to rebuild it or replace it? Do you have a frost resistant outside faucet that leaks and do not know how to fix it? Do you need to replace your outside faucet? Do you know the different kinds? How about a walk through removing an old faucet and replacing it with a new frost-proof one?

Next, it is on to the toilet. Is your toilet making a high pitched whistling sound when you flush? When ours did that, it was the toilet fill valve. Do you know how to save water using a brick?

High water pressure in your house is not a good thing. Faucets inside your home can leak if the water pressure is too high! See what to do.

Finally, even though this really does not go here, we wanted to list it anyway. It is a story about the clogged toilet. It is where we learned to listen to people around us and not believe everything we read.
