Snow Storm or Ice Storm - Always Be Prepared
If you live in an area where there is a large amount of snowfall, your roof could collapse. If it is not designed for snow loading, ice can build up at the edges of your roof and allow water to enter you house when it thaws. Even if you live in an area with an occasional snow storm or ice storm, you will still need to prepare for it. Make sure you have enough food in case you are stuck inside for a while. The sidewalks become slippery and dangerous if not cleared and salted correctly.
All of these things must be considered before winter arrives with contingency plans in place. Keeping the interior warm and pipes from freezing is very important. If you are going to use space heaters, be careful because they can become dangerous very quickly.
