What is that smell coming from my kitchen sink?

I recently had a leak under my kitchen sink. The damage was rather extensive. The contracter fixed the intial leak under the kitchen sink, pulled and re-sat my counter top, and reconnected the plumbing under the sink. The next I noticed the sink was leaking as well as an outside spigot that must run and split with the kitchen water line. After two more trys, they fix the leak both inside and out.
My problem is now there is terrible odor coming from from my kitchen sink. I have pour bleach, soda, and ran lemons down the garbage disposal. It's horrible, what's wrong?
